Well, this Saturday, Sept 27th, you too can go to a museum for free. Thanks to the Smithsonian and some other sponsors, many museums around the country will be celebrating Museum Day. The participating museums are quite varied: from the J. Paul Getty Museum in L.A. -- a favorite of mine when I lived in SoCal & it was still in Malibu. I haven't been since it moved to its new digs in L.A. itself -- to the MN zoo to the Wonderscope Childrens Museum of Kansas City, just to name a few.
To get more information or to download the free admission card, visit the Museum Day website. There's a state-by-state listing of participating museums so you can find something in your neck of the woods that interests you.
Call your friends, round up the kids (if applicable) and spend a day soaking in some 'cul-cha' (as Noo Yawkahs would say) on the house.

Well, at least for this weekend, you can pretend you live in DC & go to museums in your backyard for free.
And if you do come to DC, let me know!! I give a pretty mean tour if I do say so myself & would LOVE to meet up with you!!
